First Baptist Church is a family of follower of Jesus who are equipping and serving and sending people for the purpose of making disciples of Jesus who listen to His lead in our daily rhythms and love as He has loved us in our everyday relationships. We have been SENT to LOVE. That’s the simple understanding of the intent of Jesus for His church. We love because we are loved, and we send because we are sent.

John 3:16-18 declares God’s love for us. 1st John 4:7-11 reminds us that we were loved first, so we are compelled now to love first. John 20:21 asserts that we are sent as Jesus was sent to us. Matthew 28:18-20 gives us our purpose (to make disciples), while John 13:34-35 gives us our method (to love one another). We are grateful for the grace in which we stand, and we hope to embody that same love and forgiveness given to us so that others also might believe in the One who was sent (John 17:18-23).

If you are looking for a local church family with which to do life, we welcome you. Please consider First Baptist Church, but only if you are willing to do more than just “go to church.” The Bible never uses the words “to” or “at” or “in” or “from” with the word “church.” So, why should we?

We invite you along to be the church together with us as we go near to neighbors and nations with the love of the One who came near to us.
